especially if you haven't done one in over five years, ha..ha..Almost everydayI am bombarded with schoolworks assignments, social essays and projects and I am just not used to it.

Yes, after five long years of absence from the academic world I am back trying to finish my Sociology degree.

I decided to put off my schooling for awhile after having my baby Juan. As I've said, that was five years ago. I had more positive prospects back then; I just got married to Juan's dad and I was supposed to return to school right after Juan turned two. However, as everything in life, things just doesn't pan out and plans get derailed without your meaning to. Married life was definitely not a bed of roses and I went through a lot of struggles.

Time came when I decided to end it all with Juan's dad. I returned to my parent's home and built my life all over again, this time with my child and parents by my side.

I've decided that going back to school is one of the best ways I could recover my old life back and fulfill my almost forgotten dreams once again. It wasn't easy but it's nothing I couldn't handle. I've been through hell and back and I consider college as just one big bump on my road to success.
